Cruxy

In 2006, following their participation in the Harvard Business Plan Competition, I helped internet startup Open Vision TV improve the product design for their community media marketplace, as well as its accompanying desktop RSS aggregator.
This startup closed it's doors in 2009.
Gamecock Media

Working as part of a talented agile development team, I defined the workflows and created the HTML prototypes for a web-based asset management system to be used by a group of independent game developers, and licensed by tech startup Mediatronica as part of its suite of online management tools.

Israel Film Center

When a client wanted to create the "IMDB of Isareli films", I knew we could do better. As the information architect on this website design project, I set out to address both users who are and aren't familiar with Israeli films, allowing them to search, browse, and discover, while also serving a community of filmmakers, and allowing them to connect.
This website was a Web Award, IMA, and Communicator award winner.
Smithsonian Institution

As part of a larger strategy to develop the educational outreach for a large middle eastern cultural organization, I helped the Smithsonian develop the plan and vision for designing a world-class online education portal for parents, students, and teachers to support the region's shift to a more interactive, learner-centered educational model.

Tenement Museum

In 2007, following a major rebrand by Pentagram design, the Tenement Museum needed to update their website using only their internal resources. I helped them identify and prioritize the problems of their old site, and to imagine how the new site could solve them in a lean, cost effective way that their internal team could implement.
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

The new ArtsEdge website is an educational resource re-imagined and redesigned as a portal to the arts for teachers, parents, and students. The site features highly modular interactive content for use in the classroom or at home, and a deep taxonomy for categorizing, finding, and relating resources.
IRO Cycle

In 2008, this small but well-known fixed gear bike company was ready to break into new audiences, but didn't want to alienate the old. My research and strategy helped guide the creation of an interactive build-a-bike tool that let beginners learn about and experts experience building their own custom IRO, to much success within the fixed gear bike community.

Opportunity Equation

Following the release of its report on educational reform, the Carnegie Institute needed to create a living resource, and not just static recommendations, for people working to bring about systemic change. In response, I did the IA and content strategy for a website that would both explain the basic concepts of the report through infographics, and support new content to bring the report to life.
This website won an IMA "Best in Class" Award in the Non-Profit category.
Rockefeller Foundation

On a tight timeline, but with a lot of great research to work with, I helped turn around the complete IA for a new website featuring information and publications on the foundation's worldwide initiaitives, as well as a few interactive infographics illustrating how the foundation works.
This website was a W3, Pixel, and Communicator award winner.
Hickory Farms

In 2008, as part of a major brand overhaul, Hickory Farms needed an e-commerce website to work in conjunction with their direct-mail campaigns, improve their email marketing strategy, invite user created content, and grow their customer loyalty program, all in spite of a drastically decreased product offering. I supplied the strategy and information architecture that improved the online capabilities of this traditionally catalogue-based company.
